With a sense of danger that builds on the periphery before coming terrifyingly into focus, THE UNSETTLING is a dread-filled tale of alienation in the seemingly safest of spaces.

Ghanaian couple Abena and Kwame are struggling to recover from a devastating tragedy. They travel to the quiet suburbs of Los Angeles for a vacation that they hope will help them find their way back to one another. But the grief they bring with them finds a dark energy in their new home, and soon the promise of their new life turns into a series of horrifying visions and nightmarish encounters with unspeakable evil...

“The writing and performances perfectly convey the devastating impact that trauma has on relationships and how it will consume you… the thought-provoking themes and eerie moments keep the film entertaining and enjoyable.” Jaclyn Bartlett, Slay Away

“[Director] Harry Owens has done something truly remarkable here with The Unsettling by crafting a grounded and quite nuanced haunted house movie that explores a lot of complex emotions and themes. The central performance of Zephani Idoko and the score by Holly Amber Church really help elevate the relatively simple but highly emotional narrative.” Nick Schneider, Void Video
