One of the greatest cyberpunk thrillers ever made, unavailable to stream and never released on Blu-ray in the US. Ring in the New Year with a rare 35mm screening of this underseen sci-fi noir!

New Year’s Eve, Los Angeles, 1999. Ex-cop turned VR-peddling street hustler Lenny Nero (Ralph Fiennes) is rocked to the core when he “jacks in” to a disturbing disc containing the recorded memories of a brutal sexual assault that ends in murder. Together, he and his friend Mace (Angela Bassett, as badass as ever) take it upon themselves to catch the perp. In the process of their investigation, the two get tangled up in a larger conspiracy involving the execution of influential rapper and activist Jeriko One.

Co-written and produced by James Cameron and directed by future Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow, STRANGE DAYS was a box-office bomb upon its initial release, but has since grown considerably in estimation, though it still remains far too overlooked and underappreciated to this day.

Strange Days is not a simple film, but a profound sensory experience, where the filmmaker is the prophet of a reality just around the corner.” Juan M. Mendez, New York Daily News

“FOUR STARS. The movie is a technical tour de force. Director Kathryn Bigelow and her designers and special-effects artists create the vision of a city spinning out of control.” Roger Ebert
